Come and enjoy your local area, meet new friends and look after your health. Solihull Striders and Strollers provide health walks throughout the borough.

We have 11 regular walks in the borough led by our volunteer walk leaders.  All walks meet at 10.15am for a 10.30am departure, apart from Elmdon Park which meets at 10.45am for an 11am departure.

All age groups are welcome, even little ones in pushchairs. The walks offer a range of routes that allow for the appreciation and exploration of local surroundings, environment and wildlife. The routes used are mostly flat, even and accessible to all participants regardless of physical ability. The walks are suitable for everyone but if you are unsure, please come along to our next walk and find out for yourself or contact Nick Garnett (Leisure and Wellbeing Manager) if you have any questions.

The walks are usually around an hour but some offer a 30 minute shorter alternative.  There is always a welcome cup of tea or coffee on return (for a small donation), as well as the opportunity to chat and make new friends.

Chelmsley_Wood_27.09.11_003The help and support of our volunteer walk leaders, most of whom started off as walkers, are key to the success of Solihull Striders and Strollers. More help is always needed, so we are always on the lookout for new volunteers; full training is provided free of charge. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer walk leader please contact us.

The Striders and Strollers are part of the national Walking for Health initiative. The Solihull Striders and Strollers are a Walking for Health Accredited Scheme and meet all the national guidelines for health walks.
